Removal [11/2022 - 09/2024]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [09/2022 - ]

  2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  5. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  6. DRAIN ENGINE OIL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  7. REMOVE OIL PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE SENSOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  8. DISCONNECT NO. 6 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  9. DISCONNECT NO. 5 WATER BY-PASS HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  10. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  11. REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING SIDE COVER 
    1. Disengage the claw as shown in the illustration to remove the flywheel housing side cover.

  12. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the starter assembly connector.

    2. Open the terminal cap.
    3. Disengage the clamp to separate the engine wire.

    4. Remove the nut and disconnect the engine wire from terminal 30.
    5. Remove the 2 bolts and starter assembly from the cylinder block sub-assembly.

      NOTE:

      Make sure that the flywheel housing under cover is securely installed.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

    6. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the starter assembly.
