Removal [09/2021 - 11/2023]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE INLET NO. 1 AIR CLEANER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  3. SEPARATE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

      1. Disconnect the throttle body with motor assembly connector.
      2. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, remove the 3 bolts to separate the throttle body with motor assembly from the intake manifold.
  4. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY GASKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 EGR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [09/2021 - 11/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [11/2022 - 11/2023]

  6. REMOVE EGR VALVE ADAPTER GASKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [09/2021 - 11/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [11/2022 - 11/2023]

  7. REMOVE EGR INLET GASKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [09/2021 - 11/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [11/2022 - 11/2023]

  8. REMOVE E.F.I. VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY (MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2021 - ]

  9. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

  10. SEPARATE NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

      1. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, remove the bolt and separate the No. 3 water by-pass pipe from the intake manifold.
  11. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD STAY

      1. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, remove the bolt (A).
      2. Remove the bolt (B).
      3. Disengage the guide and remove the intake manifold stay.
  12. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL VAPOR FEED HOSE

  13. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

      1. Remove the 3 bolts and 2 nuts.
      2. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts and separate the intake manifold from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
      3. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.
      4. Remove the intake manifold.
  14. REMOVE NO. 1 INTAKE MANIFOLD TO HEAD GASKET

  15. REMOVE VACUUM HOSE
