DTC P0571-62: Brake Switch "A" Signal Compare Failure [04/2018 - 08/2021]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A33 stop light switch assembly connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Stop Light Switch Assembly)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A33-2 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A33-7 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      A33-6 (B) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      A33-6 (B) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V
    4. Connect the A33 stop light switch assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the stop light switch assembly.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [04/2018 -]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [04/2018 -] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A23 and A24 hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.
    2. Disconnect the A33 stop light switch assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the A35 skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly) connector.
    4. Disconnect the K10 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A24-28 (ST1-) - A33-5 (L) Always Below 1 Ω
      A23-15 (STP) - A33-3 (L) Always Below 1 Ω
      A24-28 (ST1-) or A33-5 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A23-15 (STP) or A33-3 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    6. Connect the K10 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    7. Connect the A35 skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly) connector.
    8. Connect the A33 stop light switch assembly connector.
    9. Connect the A23 and A24 hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  COMPONENTS [04/2018 -] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
