Distance Control Switch Circuit [04/2018 - 08/2021]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise 2 / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise2 > Data List

      OFF: Distance control switch off

      When the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch is operated, the display changes as shown above.

  2. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2021]

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2018 -]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [04/2018 -] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 08/2021]

    2. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2018 -]

      Result

      Proceed to

    Result:

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [04/2018 -]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G17 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G39 driving support ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G17-6 (DIST) - G39-23 (SPSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      G17-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      G17-6 (DIST) or G39-23 (SPSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Connect the G39 driving support ECU assembly connector.
    5. Connect the G17 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [04/2018 - 08/2021]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
