Installation [07/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Connect the airbag connector to the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.
      NOTE:

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      HINT: 

      Refer to How to Connect or Disconnect Airbag Connector.

      Refer to HOW TO CONNECT OR DISCONNECT AIRBAG CONNECTOR [07/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to HOW TO CONNECT OR DISCONNECT AIRBAG CONNECTOR [10/2022 - ]

    4. Engage the 2 hooks to temporarily install the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

    5. Engage the claw.
    6. Install the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Confirm that the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly is installed securely without any excessive gaps and is not protruding outward.

  2. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19 [07/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18 [10/2022 - ]

  3. INSTALL UPPER CONSOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  4. CONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [07/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19 [10/2022 - ]

  5. INSTALL FUSE BOX OPENING COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21 [07/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [10/2022 - ]

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28 [07/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27 [10/2022 - ]

  7. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 51 [07/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 51 [10/2022 - ]

  8. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 53 [07/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 53 [10/2022 - ]

  9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  10. INSTALL BATTERY HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 57 [07/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 57 [10/2022 - ]

  11. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  12. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK 

    Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [07/2020 - ]

  13. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 

    Refer to OPERATION CHECK [07/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to OPERATION CHECK [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to OPERATION CHECK [10/2022 - ]

  14. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [07/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to WORK PROCEDURE [10/2022 - ]

    HINT: 

    When disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.
