Reassembly [07/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL REAR BUMPER REINFORCEMENT 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the rear bumper reinforcement is necessary.

    1. Engage the 2 guides as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
    2. Install the rear bumper reinforcement with the 6 bolts.

      Torque: 29 N*m (296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf)

  2. INSTALL REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the rear bumper energy absorber is necessary.

    1. Engage the 2 guides as shown in the illustration to install the rear bumper energy absorber.

      Install in this Direction
  3. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT LH 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the rear bumper side support LH is necessary.

    1. Engage the 5 claws as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
    2. Engage the 3 clips as shown in the illustration to install the rear bumper side support LH.

  4. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SUPPORT RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER LH 
    1. Engage the 2 guides to install the rear bumper upper retainer LH to the rear combination light sub-assembly LH.

  6. INSTALL REAR BUMPER UPPER RETAINER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Connect the 2 connectors.

      Connect in this Direction - -
    2. Turn the rear combination light cord as shown in the illustration to connect them as a unit.
    3. Engage the 2 clamps.
    4. Engage the guide and pin.

    5. Install the rear combination light assembly LH with the 4 screws.
  8. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL LH 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the rear bumper side seal LH is necessary.

    1. Engage the claw.

    2. Install the rear bumper side seal LH with the 2 clips.
  10. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE SEAL RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the rear bumper side seal RH is necessary.

    1. Engage the claw.

    2. Install the rear bumper side seal RH with the 3 clips.
  11. INSTALL REAR BUMPER LOWER COVER 
    1. Engage the 10 claws.

    2. Install the 4 clips.
    3. Install the rear bumper lower cover to the rear bumper cover with the 6 clips.

  12. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD 

    HINT: 

    When installing the rear bumper pad, heat the rear bumper cover using a heat light.

    Heating Temperature

    Item Temperature
    Rear Bumper Cover 20 to 30 °C (68 to 86 °F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the rear bumper cover excessively.

    1. Clean the rear bumper cover surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.
      2. Remove any double-sided tape from the rear bumper cover.
      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
    2. Install a new rear bumper pad.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the rear bumper cover surface.
      2. Remove the release paper from the rear bumper pad.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install the 2 rear bumper pads as shown in the illustration.

        *A For RH Side *B For LH Side
        *a Line - -

        HINT: 

        • Install the rear bumper pad along the line on the rear bumper cover.
        • Press the rear bumper pad firmly to install it.
  13. INSTALL REAR BUMPER MOULDING 
    1. For Type A:
      1. Engage the 4 claws.

      2. Install the rear bumper moulding with the screw.

    2. For Type B:
      1. Engage the 8 claws.

      2. Install the rear bumper moulding with the 5 screws.

  14. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE MOULDING LH (for Type A) 
    1. Engage the guide and 2 claws.

    2. Install the rear bumper side moulding LH with the 2 screws.

  15. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE MOULDING RH (for Type A) 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  16. INSTALL NO. 2 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE 
    1. w/o Kick Sensor:
      1. Engage the 8 clamps to install the No. 2 luggage room wire.

    2. w/ Kick Sensor:
      1. Engage the 9 clamps to install the No. 2 luggage room wire.

  17. INSTALL REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  18. INSTALL REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  19. INSTALL REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  20. INSTALL REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  21. INSTALL REAR CORNER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  22. INSTALL REAR CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  23. INSTALL KICK DOOR CONTROL SENSOR WITH BRACKET (w/ Kick Sensor) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
