Removal [07/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [03/2019 - ]

  2. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  3. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER LOWER PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  4. REMOVE OIL PAN COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  5. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  6. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [03/2019 - ]

  8. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  9. REMOVE FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20

  10. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING MEMBER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21

  11. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 37

  12. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 38

  13. SEPARATE PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY WITH CENTER BEARING 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  14. REMOVE NO. 2 MANIFOLD STAY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26

  15. DISCONNECT NO. 2 EARTH WIRE 
    1. Remove the nut (1).

    2. Release ground strap (2) from the transmission.
  16. REMOVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:
    • Materials harmful to health.

      Contact with fluids harmful to health.

      • Note and follow safety information on containers.
      • Conduct all work in appropriate personal protective equipment only.
    NOTE:
    • Damage to the engine block.

      Serious damage to the engine block and transmission due to damaged and corroded bolts.

      • It is imperative that protruding threads of the transmission bolts are checked for corrosion and damage prior to removal.
      • It is imperative that all rust is removed from corroded threads and that they are cleaned prior to removal.
      • Renew rusted and damaged bolts.
    1. Relieve tension on clutch slave cylinder slowly as otherwise air will be drawn in through the sealing cup.

      HINT: 

      Pressure line of clutch slave cylinder remains connected.

    2. Release the screws (1) and remove the clutch slave cylinder (2)with the holder (3).
    3. Unlock the locks (1) in the direction of arrow.

    4. Pull out bearing journal (2) in the direction of the arrow and release gearshift arm (3).
    5. Pull off retaining clip (2).

    6. Pull out gearshift rod (1) in the direction of the arrow from gearshift rod joint (3).
    7. Disconnect the connector (1) from the transmission.

    8. Unplug connector (1).
    9. Release the (remaining) transmission E11 or E14 bolts (arrows).

    10. Pull transmission downwards and remove.
