Installation [12/2022 - 12/2023]: Procedure

  1. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY

      1. Install the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly to the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly.
      2. Install the bolt.

        Torque: 35.3 N.m (360 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf) 

      3. Tighten the clamp.
  3. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL LH 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [11/2020 - ]

  4. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY

      1. Install the steering column assembly to the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly.
      2. Install the steering column assembly with the 2 nuts and bolt.

        Torque: 36 N.m (367 kgf/cm, 27 ft.lbf) 

        NOTE:

        Temporarily tighten the bolt, and then fully tighten the bolt and 2 nuts in the order of 2 nuts and bolt.

      3. Install the bolt.

        Torque: 35.3 N.m (360 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf) 

      4. Connect each connector and engage each wire harness clamp to the steering column assembly.
  5. INSTALL NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT 
  6. INSTALL AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf/cm, 87 in.lbf) 

  7. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIR BAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2022 - ]

  8. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    NOTE:
    • Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the battery connected and the power switch on (IG).
    • Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel assembly installed, with the battery connected and the power switch on (IG).
    • Ensure that the steering wheel assembly is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.

      Install in this Direction - -
      1. Using pliers, support the band clamp while loosened and set the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.
      2. Engage the claw to install the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly to the steering column assembly as shown in the illustration.
      3. Tighten the band clamp.
      4. Connect each connector to the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.
  9. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 
  10. INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER 
  11. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  12. INSPECT AND ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7
  13. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [11/2020 - 12/2023] 

  14. CUSTOMIZE POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM

    HINT: 
    Return the customization settings to the settings before changing them.
    1. Perform the customization settings.

      Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [11/2020 - ]

  15. INITIALIZATION AFTER RECONNECTING AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    HINT: 

    When disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, there is an automatic learning function that completes learning when the respective system is used.

  16. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [12/2022 - 12/2023]
