Removal [12/2022 - 12/2023]: Procedure

NOTE: Perform the customization settings before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Otherwise, removal of the steering column cover becomes difficult. HINT: Record the customization settings before changing them.

1. Perform the customization settings.

   Refer to CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [11/2020 - ]

2. Move the steering wheel to its lowest and rearmost position.

   	Remove in this Direction (2)		Remove in this Direction (3)

   1. Remove the 3 screws.
   2. Press the part in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration to detach the claw.
      NOTE:

      Do not damage the felt.

   3. Detach the 2 claws and remove the lower steering column cover in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:

      Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch and felt.

   *A	w/ Advanced Drive	-	-
   	Place Hand Here		Remove in this Direction

   1. Detach the claws and guides as shown in the illustration.
   2. w/ Advanced Drive:

      Disconnect the connectors.

   3. Disengage the claw to remove the upper steering column cover.

NOTE: Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the battery connected and the power switch on (IG). Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel assembly installed, with the battery connected and the power switch on (IG). Ensure that the steering wheel assembly is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.

   	Remove in this Direction	-	-

   1. Disconnect each connector from the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.
   2. Using pliers, support the band clamp while loosened.
   3. Disengage the claw to remove the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly from the steering column assembly.

   1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 air duct sub-assembly in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration.

   1. Put matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering column assembly.
   2. Remove the bolt.
   3. Disconnect each connector and disengage each wire harness clamp from the steering column assembly.
   4. Remove the 2 nuts, bolt and steering column assembly.
   5. Disconnect the steering column assembly from the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly.

   *a	Matchmark	-	-
   	Slide in this Direction	-	-

   1. Loosen the clamp.
   2. Remove the bolt.
   3. Slide the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and put matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and rack and pinion power steering gear assembly.
   4. Remove the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly from the vehicle.
