Removal [11/2021 - 12/2022]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION

    WARNING:

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the auxiliary negative (-) battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [11/2021 - 12/2022]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    WARNING:
    • Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 
    1. Use the same procedure described for the RH side.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL

  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ORNAMENT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  7. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  8. REMOVE UPPER NO. 1 CONSOLE PANEL GARNISH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  9. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  10. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    WARNING:
    • When storing the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      *a Turns off - -
      1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
      2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
        WARNING:
        • Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
        • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Remove the 4 bolts.
      2. Detach the hook to remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.
      3. Detach the claw of the hood lock control lever, and then pull it out in the direction indicated by the arrow.
      4. Detach the wire harness clamp.
      5. Disconnect the airbag connector and remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.
