Removal [11/2021 - 12/2022]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION

    NOTE:
    • Do not remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) except when replacing it.
    • When removing the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), always replace it with a new one.
  2. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - 12/2022]

  3. REMOVE AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  5. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL TO COWL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 67

  6. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY WITH MAIN BODY ECU

      1. Remove the 2 nuts.

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, detach the claw and disconnect the 2 lever connectors.
      2. Disconnect the 5 connectors.

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Detach the clamp.
      2. Using a thin-bladed screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, detach the claw, disconnect the 2 lever connectors and remove the driver side junction block assembly with main body ECU.
  7. REMOVE WIRING HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

  8. REMOVE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)

      *1 Driver Side Junction Block Assembly *2 Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU)
      *a Rib - -
      Rotate in this Direction Remove in this Direction
      Push in this Direction Horizontally Insert a Thin-bladed Screwdriver
      1. Press the claw of the driver side junction block assembly as shown in the illustration and release the lock of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
      2. With the lock released, insert a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape horizontally in between the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and the driver side junction block assembly.
        NOTE:

        Use a screwdriver with a diameter between 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) and 6.3 mm (0.248 in.) and a length of approximately 90 mm (3.54 in.).

      3. Using the screwdriver, carefully raise the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) to the position where the connector becomes disconnected.
        NOTE:
        • Do not pry and lift with the screwdriver.
        • Replace the driver side junction block assembly or the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) when the connector terminal, locking section or case is damaged or deformed.
      4. Lift up the rib of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and slide the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) to remove it as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Do not touch the ECU connector terminal with your fingers.
