DTC P16B5-11: Multi Flow Control Valve Sensor Circuit Short to Ground [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
HINT:
Make sure that the connector is properly connected. If it is not, securely connect it and check for DTCs again.
- Disconnect the water control valve connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition C73-2 (VCFC) - C73-3 (EFCV) Ignition switch ON 4.5 to 5.5 V C73-1 (FCV) - C73-3 (EFCV) Ignition switch ON 3.0 to 5.0 V - Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition C73-2 (VCFC) - C73-1 (FCV) Ignition switch off 190 to 210 kΩ Result
Proceed to OK NG

REPLACE WATER CONTROL VALVE

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WATER CONTROL VALVE - ECM)
- Disconnect the water control valve connector.
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition C73-2 (VCFC) - C88-70 (VCFV) Always Below 1 Ω C73-1 (FCV) or C88-72 (FCA) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher Result
