Removal [11/2023 - ]: Procedure

- PRECAUTION NOTE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2022 - ]
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23
- REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
- REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20
- DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6
- REMOVE PURGE VALVE (PURGE VSV)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17
- REMOVE AIR TUBE ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8
- DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel pump assembly.
Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2022 - ]
- Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel pump assembly.
- REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY WARNING:
To prevent serious injury due to fuel spray from the high-pressure fuel lines, always discharge fuel system pressure before removing any fuel system components.
- REMOVE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY NOTE:
When replacing the fuel pump assembly, it is necessary to replace the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly with a new one.
- REMOVE FUEL PUMP SPACER GASKET
- REMOVE FUEL PUMP LIFTER ASSEMBLY
