Removal [09/2022 - 11/2022]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE REAR WHEELS 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

  2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID 
    NOTE:

    If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, immediately wash it off.

  3. SEPARATE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. SEPARATE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. SEPARATE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  6. SEPARATE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly.

  7. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Using a union nut wrench, separate the rear No. 2 brake tube flexible hose from the rear No. 4 brake tube while holding the rear No. 2 brake tube flexible hose with a wrench.

      NOTE:
      • Do not kink or damage the brake line.
      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the brake line from the connecting parts.
    2. Remove the clip and separate the rear No. 2 brake tube flexible hose.

      Remove the 2 bolts and rear disc brake caliper assembly LH with rear No. 2 brake tube flexible hose.

  8. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. REMOVE REAR DISC (for LH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  10. REMOVE REAR DISC (for RH Side) 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  11. REMOVE REAR NO. 4 BRAKE TUBE 
    1. Disengage the clamp and remove the rear No. 4 brake tube.

  12. REMOVE REAR NO. 3 BRAKE TUBE 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the rear No. 4 brake tube.

  13. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  14. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY LH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  15. REMOVE REAR COIL SPRING 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  16. REMOVE REAR UPPER COIL SPRING INSULATOR LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  17. REMOVE REAR UPPER COIL SPRING INSULATOR RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  18. REMOVE REAR LOWER COIL SPRING INSULATOR LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  19. REMOVE REAR LOWER COIL SPRING INSULATOR RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  20. REMOVE REAR AXLE BEAM ASSEMBLY 
    1. Support the rear axle beam assembly with an engine lifter using 2 wooden blocks and 2 attachments or equivalent tools as shown in the illustration.

      WARNING:

      Make sure to secure the rear axle beam assembly to prevent it from dropping.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the rear axle beam assembly from the rear shock absorber assemblies LH and RH.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts and rear axle beam assembly.
  21. REMOVE REAR AXLE CARRIER BUSHING LH 
    1. Install SST as shown in the illustration.
      • SST: 09710-28050 
      • SST: 09950-40011 
        1. 09951-04010
        2. 09953-04010
        3. 09957-04010
        4. 09958-04011

    2. Using SST, remove the rear axle carrier bushing LH from the rear axle beam assembly.
      NOTE:
      • When removing the rear axle carrier bushing LH, make sure SST does not interfere with the flange of the rear axle carrier bushing LH.

      • When removing the rear axle carrier bushing LH, check that the SST portions between the bolts are installed to the rear axle beam in a parallel condition.

      • If a nut is loose, stop the work and re-set SST in place.
  22. REMOVE REAR AXLE CARRIER BUSHING RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.

  23. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION ARM BRACKET LH 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the rear suspension arm bracket LH is necessary.

    1. Remove the bolt and separate the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly from the rear suspension arm bracket LH.

      Remove the bolt and separate the rear flexible hose LH from the rear suspension arm bracket LH.

      Remove the 4 bolts and rear suspension arm bracket LH from the vehicle body.

  24. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION ARM BRACKET RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the rear suspension arm bracket RH is necessary.

      Remove the 2 nut and parking brake cable heat insulator from the rear suspension arm bracket RH.

      Remove the bolt and separate the No. 1 parking brake wire assembly from the rear suspension arm bracket RH.

      Remove the bolt and separate the rear flexible hose RH from the rear suspension arm bracket RH.

      Remove the 4 bolts and rear suspension arm bracket RH from the vehicle body.
