Removal [10/2017 - 08/2020]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [02/2017 - 05/2018] , or refer to PRECAUTION [05/2018 - ]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 2

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2017 - 05/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [05/2018 - 09/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR REAR FRAME BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 3 [10/2017 - 05/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 3 [05/2018 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 3 [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 4 [10/2017 - 05/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 4 [05/2018 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 4 [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  5. REMOVE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH REAR DOOR ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 5 [10/2017 - 05/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 5 [05/2018 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 5 [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  6. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 6 [10/2017 - 05/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 6 [05/2018 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 6 [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  7. REMOVE REAR DOOR TRIM BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 13 [10/2017 - 05/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 13 [05/2018 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 13 [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  8. REMOVE REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 15 [10/2017 - 05/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 15 [05/2018 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 15 [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  9. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 29 [10/2017 - 05/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 29 [05/2018 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 31 [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  10. REMOVE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 28 [10/2017 - 05/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 28 [05/2018 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 30 [09/2019 - 08/2020]

  11. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 3 screws and rear door lock with motor assembly.
    3. When reusing the rear door lock with motor assembly:
      1. Remove the door lock wiring harness seal from the rear door lock with motor assembly.

  12. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. w/o Double Locking System:
      1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw as shown in the illustration.

        Remove in this Direction
      2. Disengage the guide to remove the rear door lock remote control cable assembly from the rear door lock with motor assembly.

    2. w/ Double Locking System:
      1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw as shown in the illustration.

      2. Disengage the guide to remove the rear door lock remote control cable assembly from the rear door lock with motor assembly.

  13. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. w/o Double Locking System:
      1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claws as shown in the illustration.

      2. Disengage the guide to remove the rear door inside locking cable assembly from the rear door lock with motor assembly.

    2. w/ Double Locking System:

      2. Disengage the guide to remove the rear door inside locking cable assembly from the rear door lock with motor assembly.

  14. REMOVE NO. 1 REAR DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claws as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the guide to remove the No. 1 rear door lock remote control cable assembly from the rear door lock with motor assembly.
