Removal [08/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [05/2018 - ]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 2

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to WORK PROCEDURE [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to WORK PROCEDURE [12/2021 - ]

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 3

  4. REMOVE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL (for Driver Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 4

  5. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH FRONT ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL (for Front Passenger Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 5

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 6

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS INNER WEATHERSTRIP 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 10

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR BELT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 11

  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 15

  10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 17

  11. REMOVE DOOR FRAME UPPER GARNISH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 20

  12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 21

  13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 23

  14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER (for Driver Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - STEP 24

  15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

      *1 Front Door Lock Open Rod
      Remove in this Direction
    2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 3 screws.
    3. Disconnect the front door lock open rod as shown in the illustration.
    4. Remove the front door lock with motor assembly.
    5. When reusing the front door lock with motor assembly (w/o Double Locking System):
      1. Remove the door lock wiring harness seal from the front door lock with motor assembly.

    6. When reusing the front door lock with motor assembly (w/ Double Locking System):
      1. Remove the door lock wiring harness seal from the front door lock with motor assembly.

  16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Double Locking System) 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claws as shown in the illustration.

      *a Protective Tape
      Remove in this Direction
    2. Disengage the guides to remove the front door lock cover sub-assembly from the front door lock with motor assembly.

  17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK REMOTE CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. w/o Double Locking System:

        Disengage the guide to remove the front door lock remote control cable assembly from the front door lock with motor assembly.

    2. w/ Double Locking System:
      1. Disengage the guide to remove the front door lock remote control cable assembly from the front door lock with motor assembly.

  18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE LOCKING CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. w/o Double Locking System:
      1. Disengage the guide to remove the front door inside locking cable assembly from the front door lock with motor assembly.

    2. w/ Double Locking System:
      1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claws as shown in the illustration.

        Remove in this Direction
      2. Disengage the guide to remove the front door inside locking cable assembly from the front door lock with motor assembly.
