Removal [02/2019 - 10/2019]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE TORQUE VECTORING DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY (for Torque Vectoring Differential) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

  2. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY (except Torque Vectoring Differential) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]

  3. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  4. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the bolt, nut and rear No. 1 suspension arm assembly from the rear suspension member sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Loosen the bolt with the nut secured.

  6. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. except Torque Vectoring Differential, w/ Height Control Sensor:
      1. Disengage the 7 clamps to separate the differential carrier wire harness.

    2. except Torque Vectoring Differential, w/o Height Control Sensor:
      1. Disengage the 6 clamps to separate the differential carrier wire harness.

    3. Using an engine lifter and 4 attachments or equivalent tools, support the rear suspension member sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
      WARNING:
      • The rear suspension member sub-assembly is a very heavy component. Make sure that it is supported securely.
      • If the rear suspension member sub-assembly is not securely supported, it may drop, resulting in serious injury.

      NOTE:

      Use attachments or equivalent tools to keep the rear suspension member sub-assembly level.

      *a Engine Lifter
      *b Attachment
      Attachment and Wooden Block Placement Location
    4. Remove the 2 bolts, 4 nuts, 2 rear suspension member lower stoppers, rear suspension member lower brace LH and rear suspension member lower brace RH.
    5. Slowly lower the rear suspension member sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      When lowering the rear suspension member sub-assembly, be careful not to damage the vehicle body or other components installed to the vehicle.

    6. for TMC Made:
      1. Remove the 4 rear suspension member cushions from the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

        HINT: 

        Make sure to place an identification mark on the rear suspension member cushion so that they can be reinstalled to their original positions.

    7. for TMMC Made:
      1. Remove the 2 rear suspension member cushions and 2 upper differential support member stoppers from the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

        HINT: 

        Make sure to place an identification mark on the rear suspension member cushion and upper differential support member stopper so that they can be reinstalled to their original positions.

  8. REMOVE REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  9. REMOVE REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  10. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BODY MOUNTING CUSHION (for LH Side) 

    See step  33

  11. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BODY MOUNTING CUSHION (for RH Side) 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  12. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BODY MOUNT CUSHION LH 

    See step  35

  13. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BODY MOUNT CUSHION RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  14. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT CUSHION 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  15. REMOVE HOLE PLUG 
    1. Remove the 10 hole plugs from the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

      HINT: 

      There are 2 different shapes of hole plug.
