Removal [11/2018 - 10/2019]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
Make sure to select face mode before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
- RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
- for HFC-134a (R134a):

- for HFO-1234yf (R1234yf):

- DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

- REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY
Refer to REMOVAL [11/2018 - ]
- REMOVE COWL VENTILATOR SPLASH SHIELD (for TMC Made)
HINT:
Remove using the same procedure that is performed when replacement of the cowl ventilator splash shield is necessary.
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9
- REMOVE COWL VENTILATOR SPLASH SHIELD (for TMMC Made)
HINT:
Use the same procedure described as for the cowl ventilator splash shield (for TMC Made).
- REMOVE COWL VENTILATOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE HOLE PLUG
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [02/2019 - 10/2019]
- DISCONNECT SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made without Sub-cool Accelerator)
- Remove the bolt.
- Rotate the 1-point tightening plate as shown in the illustration.
Rotate in this Direction - Disconnect the suction pipe sub-assembly.NOTE:
Do not apply excessive force to the suction pipe sub-assembly.
- Remove the O-ring from the suction pipe sub-assembly.NOTE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.
- Remove the bolt.
- DISCONNECT SUCTION TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY B (for TMMC Made without Sub-cool Accelerator)
HINT:
Use the same procedure described as for the suction pipe sub-assembly (for TMC Made without Sub-cool Accelerator).
- DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY (w/o Sub-cool Accelerator)
- Disconnect the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.NOTE:
Do not apply excessive force to the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.
- Remove the O-ring from the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.NOTE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.
- Disconnect the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.
- DISCONNECT NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY (for TMC Made with Sub-cool Accelerator)
- Remove the bolt.
- Rotate the 1-point tightening plate as shown in the illustration.
Rotate in this Direction - Disconnect the No. 2 air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.NOTE:
Do not apply excessive force to the No. 2 air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.
- Remove the 2 O-rings from the No. 2 air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.NOTE:
Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.
- Remove the bolt.
- DISCONNECT SUCTION TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY B (for TMMC Made with Sub-cool Accelerator)
HINT:
Use the same procedure described as for the No. 2 air conditioning tube and accessory assembly (for TMC Made with Sub-cool Accelerator).
- DISCONNECT OUTLET HEATER WATER HOSE
- DISCONNECT INLET HEATER WATER HOSE
- REMOVE HEATER GROMMET

- REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

- REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH
- Remove the rear side of the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH so that the lower center pillar garnish LH can be removed.

- Remove the front side of the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH so that the lower center pillar garnish LH can be removed.

- Remove the lower center pillar garnish LH.

- Remove the rear side of the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH so that the lower center pillar garnish LH can be removed.

- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY WITH MAIN BODY ECU

- DISCONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
- Disconnect the 2 connectors.
*a Clamp *b Guide - Detach the clamp and guide.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
*a Clamp *b Guide - Detach the guide and disconnect the 3 ground wires.
- Detach the clamp.
- Remove the nut.
*A for Type A *B for Type B *C for Automatic Air Conditioning System - - *a Clamp *b Guide Bolt Nut Connector Lever Connector - Remove the bolt.
- Detach the guide and disconnect the ground wire.
- Disconnect the connector.
- Detach the clamp.
- Disconnect the lever connector.

- Disconnect the 2 connectors.
