Removal [11/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [06/2015 - ]

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE TRIM SERVICE HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2018 - ]

  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  5. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  6. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  7. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  8. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Separate the front door opening trim weatherstrip.
  9. SEPARATE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Separate rear door opening trim weatherstrip.
  10. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19

  11. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21

  12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut to separate the shoulder anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly.

    2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, pull out the locking button to release the lock to disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.

      *1 Locking Button
      *a Protective Tape
    3. Disconnect the connector.
    4. Remove the bolt.

    5. Disengage the guides to remove the front seat outer belt assembly.

  13. REMOVE FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR PLATE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Disengage the guide to remove the front shoulder belt anchor plate sub-assembly.
  14. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BELT RETRACTOR COVER 
    1. Disengage the guide to remove the front seat belt retractor cover.
