Removal [06/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - ]

  2. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [06/2015 - 11/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [11/2018 - ]

  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [06/2015 - 11/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [11/2018 - ]

  4. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23 [06/2015 - 11/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23 [11/2018 - ]

  5. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25 [06/2015 - 11/2018] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25 [11/2018 - ]

  6. REMOVE UPPER QUARTER WINDOW MOULDING 

    Refer to REMOVAL [06/2015 - ]

  7. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    The quarter window assembly may fall while performing this procedure. Therefore, use suction cups to hold the quarter window assembly from the outside of the vehicle.

    1. Apply protective tape to the area around the installation position of the quarter window assembly on the vehicle body to prevent it from being scratched.

    2. Using a knife, cut off the quarter window outside moulding as shown in the illustration.

      *1 Quarter Window Assembly
      *a Body Panel
      *b Cut
      • Be careful not to damage the vehicle body and quarter window assembly with the knife.
      • If there are any scratches on the body panels, perform rustproofing treatment after removing the quarter window assembly.
    3. Install the suction cups to the quarter glass.
    4. Pass a piano wire between the vehicle body and quarter glass from the interior.

      Protective Tape
      1. Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects that can serve as handles.
    5. Cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the quarter window assembly.
    6. Using suction cups, disengage the clips to remove the quarter window assembly.

      NOTE:

      Make sure that the back door glass does not fall.
