Installation [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL NO. 1 TURBO WATER PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Install a new gasket as shown in the illustration.
      2. Install the No. 1 turbo water pipe sub-assembly with the bolt and 2 nuts.

        Torque: 12 N.m (122 kgf/cm, 9 ft.lbf) 

  2. INSTALL TURBOCHARGER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Using an E10 "TORX" socket wrench, install the 4 stud bolts.

        Torque: 19.5 N.m (199 kgf/cm, 14 ft.lbf) 

      2. Rotate the converter with catalyst assembly outwards around the stud bolts to secure install space.
      3. Install the turbocharger sub-assembly with 4 new nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

        Torque: 43 N.m (438 kgf/cm, 32 ft.lbf) 

        NOTE:

        After tightening the 4 nuts to the specified torque, tighten the first nut again.

      4. Install the No. 1 turbo oil pipe and turbocharger sub-assembly with the 2 nuts.

        Torque: 12 N.m (122 kgf/cm, 9 ft.lbf) 

  3. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE CLAMP 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. INSTALL CONVERTER WITH CATALYST ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 HEAT INSULATOR BRACKET

      *A 

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

      *B 

      Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

  6. CONNECT NO. 3 TURBO WATER HOSE

      *a Paint Mark (White) - -
      1. Connect the No. 3 turbo water hose.
  7. CONNECT NO. 2 TURBO WATER HOSE

      *a Paint Mark (Yellow) - -
      1. Connect the No. 2 turbo water hose.
  8. INSTALL NO. 1 TURBO INSULATOR 

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  9. INSTALL AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Sensor 1) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    Specified tightening torque 

    Torque: 44 N.m (449 kgf/cm, 32 ft.lbf) 

  10. INSTALL DASH PANEL HEAT INSULATOR 

    Torque: 4.9 N.m (50 kgf/cm, 43 in.lbf) 

  11. INSTALL COMPRESSOR INLET ELBOW SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Type A:

      *a Protrusion - -
      1. Install a new throttle body gasket to the compressor inlet elbow sub-assembly with the protrusion of the throttle body gasket oriented as shown in the illustration.
      2. Install the compressor inlet elbow sub-assembly and turbocherger sub-assembly with the 2 nuts.

        Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

    2. Type B:

      *a Protrusion - -
      1. Install a new throttle body gasket to the compressor inlet elbow sub-assembly with the protrusion of the throttle body gasket oriented as shown in the illustration.
      2. Install the compressor inlet elbow sub-assembly and turbocherger sub-assembly with the 2 nuts.

        Torque: 21 N.m (214 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

  12. INSTALL VACUUM REGULATING VALVE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  13. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 
  14. INSTALL AIR TUBE ASSEMBLY 

    See step  15

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  15. CONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE 
  16. INSTALL PURGE VALVE (PURGE VSV) 

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  17. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE 

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  18. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    See step  19

  19. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 56 [10/2022 - 11/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 56 [11/2023 - ]

  20. INSTALL COWL VENTILATOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  21. INSTALL FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION TO COWL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
  22. INSTALL FRONT UPPER SUSPENSION TO COWL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
  23. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SEAL FRONT LH 
  24. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SEAL FRONT RH 
  25. INSTALL FENDER REAR SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
  26. INSTALL FENDER REAR SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
  27. INSTALL HOOD CUSHION CENTER LH 
  28. INSTALL HOOD CUSHION CENTER RH 
  29. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2019 - ]

  30. INSTALL PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2022 - ]

  31. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2022 - ] 

  32. ADD COOLANT (for Intercooler) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  33. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK 

    See step  3

  34. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the air fuel ratio sensor.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2022 - ]
