Removal [08/2015 - 08/2017]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - 08/2017] ).

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017] ).

  3. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  5. REMOVE STEERING PAD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  6. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the 2 connectors from the spiral cable.

    2. Remove the steering wheel set nut.
    3. Put matchmarks on the steering wheel and main shaft.

    4. Using SST, remove the steering wheel.
      • SST: 09950-50013 
        1. 09951-05010
        2. 09952-05010
        3. 09953-05020
        4. 09954-05011
  7. REMOVE NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL ORNAMENT (w/o Steering Pad Switch) 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the 3 guide pins and claw, and remove the No. 2 steering wheel ornament.
  8. REMOVE NO. 1 STEERING WHEEL ORNAMENT (w/o Steering Pad Switch) 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Detach the 3 guide pins and claw, and remove the No. 1 steering wheel ornament.
  9. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Steering Pad Switch) 
    1. Remove the 4 screws.

    2. Detach the 6 guide pins and 2 claws, and remove the steering pad switch assembly.
  10. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH 
    1. Disconnect the connector and remove the harness from cruise control main switch.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and remove the cruise control main switch.
  11. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL PAD ATTACHING SCREW 
    1. Remove the 2 steering wheel pad attaching screws.
