Removal [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work. Refer to:

    PRECAUTION [08/2015 - 08/2017] , or

    PRECAUTION [08/2017 - 08/2019] .

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to:

    INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017]

    INITIALIZATION [08/2017 - 08/2018]

    INITIALIZATION [08/2018 - 08/2019]

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 4

  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME BRACKET GARNISH (for 14 Speakers) 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 3

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL PLUG 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 5

  6. REMOVE FRONT ARMREST BASE UPPER PANEL 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 6

  7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to: PROCEDURE - Step 7

  8. REMOVE SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    Confirm that the cable is disconnected from the battery negative (-) terminal. Even an impact to only the airbag sensor will cause the airbag to deploy.

    1. Slide the outer housing and disconnect the airbag connector.

    2. Remove the bolt.
    3. Disengage the guide and remove the side airbag sensor.
