WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- INSPECT NO. 1 TRANSMISSION WIRE (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE S2)
- Disconnect the D41 No. 1 transmission wire connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 15 (S2) - Body ground 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15 Ω
Result:
NG
See step 3
Result:
OK
See step 2
- Disconnect the D41 No. 1 transmission wire connector.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM)
- Disconnect the D56 ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition D56-17 (S2) - Body ground 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15 Ω
Result:

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE S2
- Remove the shift solenoid valve S2.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Shift solenoid valve S2 connector terminal - Shift solenoid valve S2 body 20°C (68°F) 11 to 15 Ω - Connect the battery positive (+) lead to the terminal of the solenoid valve connector, and the negative (-) lead to the solenoid valve body. Then check that the valve moves and makes an operating noise.
OK
Valve moves and makes an operating noise.
Result:
OK
REPAIR OR REPLACE NO. 1 TRANSMISSION WIRE
(Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )
Result:
NG
REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE S2
(Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 )
- Remove the shift solenoid valve S2.
