Removal [08/2015 - 08/2018]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - 08/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2017 - 08/2019] ).

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2017 - 08/2018] ).

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  5. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE 
    1. Remove the dipstick.
    2. Disconnect the wire harness clamp.
    3. Remove the bolt and dipstick guide.

    4. Remove the O-ring from the dipstick guide.
  6. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  7. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  9. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  10. REMOVE STARTER COVER 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and starter cover.

  11. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

    2. Disconnect the starter connector.
    3. Remove the nut and disconnect the starter wire.
    4. Remove the 2 bolts and starter.

    5. Remove the flywheel housing side cover.
