Removal [08/2017 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work. Refer to

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to

    REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

  4. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and No. 3 air duct sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE PUSH ROD PIN 
    1. Remove the clip and push rod pin.
  6. REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  7. REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH MOUNTING ADJUSTER 
    1. Remove the stop light switch mounting adjuster.
  8. DISCONNECT BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Disconnect the 2 clamps from the brake pedal support assembly.
    3. Disconnect the wire harness clamp from the brake pedal support assembly.

    4. Disconnect the stop light switch wire harness clamp from the brake pedal support assembly.

    5. Remove the brake pedal return spring.

    6. Remove the bolt, and disconnect the brake pedal support assembly from the instrument panel reinforcement assembly.
  9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to

    REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

  10. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 nuts and pedal support assembly.

  11. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL PAD 
    1. Remove the brake pedal pad.
