Removal [08/2017 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2017 - 08/2019]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2017 - 08/2018] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2018 - 08/2019]

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Raise the handle, detach the 4 guides and remove the No. 2 deck board sub-assembly.
  4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM BOX

    1. Remove the 4 caps.

      Remove the 4 bolts and luggage compartment trim box.

  5. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the bolt and rope hook assembly.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for both sides.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Detach the 5 clips and remove the No. 1 deck board sub-assembly.
  7. REMOVE DECK BOARD REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the 4 bolts and deck board reinforcement sub-assembly.
  8. REMOVE DECK BOARD BRACKET

    1. Remove the 2 bolts and deck board bracket.
  9. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY RH

    1. Detach the 9 claws and remove the front door scuff plate RH.

    Protective Tape
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, detach the 2 claws and remove the rear floor step No. 1 cover.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for both sides.

    Protective Tape
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, detach the 2 claws and remove the rear floor step No. 2 cover.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for both sides.

    1. Remove the bolt.
    2. Detach the 5 clips and the 6 claws and 2 guides, and remove the rear door scuff plate RH front side.

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    4. Detach the 5 clips and 2 claws, and remove the scuff plate RH rear side.
  22. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, detach the 2 claws and remove the 2 assist grip plugs.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and assist grip.
    3. Detach the claw and remove the front pillar garnish RH.

      *1 Curtain Shield Airbag Assembly
      *a Protective Cover
      Adhesive Tape

      Protect the curtain shield airbag.

      1. Thoroughly cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and fix the ends of the cover with adhesive tape, as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

      Detach the 7 clips and 2 claws, and remove the lower center pillar garnish RH.

  28. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for both sides.

  29. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH 
    1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, detach the 2 claws and remove the 2 assist grip plugs.
    2. Remove the 2 bolts and assist grip.
    3. Remove the bolt.
    4. Detach the clip and guide.
    5. Pass the front seat outer belt floor anchor through the center pillar garnish, and remove the center pillar garnish RH.

      Take out the roof headlining assembly from the cabin as shown in the illustration.
