Removal [11/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. SECURE VEHICLE 
    1. Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.
      WARNING:
      • Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.
      • If the vehicle is not secure and the shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.

  2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER FRONT SPLASH SHIELD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [10/2023 - ]

  3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER FRONT SPLASH SHIELD RH

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15 [10/2023 - ]

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16 [10/2023 - ]

  6. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [02/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [08/2020 - ]

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [02/2019 - 10/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [10/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [08/2020 - 12/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [12/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [10/2022 - 10/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [10/2023 - ]

  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [11/2018 - 02/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [02/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2020 - ]

  9. DISCONNECT MOTOR COOLING COOLER 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts to disconnect the motor cooling cooler from the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket.

  10. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Move the shift lever to N.
    2. Remove the nut and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission control shaft lever.

    3. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly with the clip from the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket.

    4. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the clip from the transmission control cable assembly.

  11. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the shift lever position sensor connector.

    2. Remove the nut, washer and transmission control shaft lever from the shift lever position sensor.

    3. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, pry out the tabs of the lock plate.

      *1 Lock Plate

    4. Remove the lock nut and lock plate from the shift lever position sensor.

    5. Remove the 2 bolts and shift lever position sensor from the hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.
