Installation [06/2015 - 11/2018]: Procedure
- INSTALL REAR AXLE CARRIER BUSH LH
- When reusing the rear axle beam assembly:
- Align the alignment mark on a new rear axle carrier bushing LH with the matchmark on the rear axle beam assembly and temporarily install the rear axle carrier bushing LH to the rear axle beam assembly.
*a Matchmark *b Alignment mark NOTE:Be sure to install the rear axle carrier bushing LH in the same direction as it was before removal. The rear axle carrier bushing LH has to be installed in a specific direction.
- Align the alignment mark on a new rear axle carrier bushing LH with the matchmark on the rear axle beam assembly and temporarily install the rear axle carrier bushing LH to the rear axle beam assembly.
*a 135° *b 48.5 mm (1.91 in.) Upper of the Vehicle Front of the Vehicle When using a new rear axle beam assembly:
- Temporarily install a new rear axle carrier bushing LH as shown in the illustration.NOTE:
Be sure to install the rear axle carrier bushing as shown in the illustration. The rear axle carrier bushing has to be installed in a specific direction.
- Temporarily install a new rear axle carrier bushing LH as shown in the illustration.
- Using SST, install the rear axle carrier bushing LH to the rear axle beam assembly.

NOTE:- Do not damage the rubber portion when installing the rear axle carrier bushing.
- Apply grease to the threads and tip of the SST center bolt before use.

- When reusing the rear axle beam assembly:
- INSTALL REAR AXLE CARRIER BUSH RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure for the LH side.
- INSTALL REAR AXLE BEAM DYNAMIC DAMPER LH
- Install the rear axle beam dynamic damper LH to the rear axle beam assembly with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 40 N*m (408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf)
- Install the rear axle beam dynamic damper LH to the rear axle beam assembly with the 2 nuts.
- INSTALL REAR AXLE BEAM DYNAMIC DAMPER
HINT:
Use the same procedure for the LH side.
- TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR AXLE BEAM ASSEMBLY
- Slowly jack up the rear axle beam assembly with an engine lifter using 2 wooden blocks and 2 attachments or equivalent tools, and temporarily install the rear axle beam assembly to the vehicle with the 2 bolts (B).
*a Universal Engine Lifter *b Wooden Block *c Height Adjustment Attachment - - NOTE:Make sure to secure the rear axle beam assembly to prevent it from dropping.
- Temporarily install the rear axle beam assembly to the rear shock absorber assemblies LH and RH with the 2 bolts (A) and 2 nuts.NOTE:
Because the nuts have their own stoppers, do not turn the nuts. Tighten the bolts with the nuts secured.
HINT:
Insert the bolts with the threaded end facing the outside of the vehicle.
- Slowly jack up the rear axle beam assembly with an engine lifter using 2 wooden blocks and 2 attachments or equivalent tools, and temporarily install the rear axle beam assembly to the vehicle with the 2 bolts (B).
- INSTALL REAR COIL SPRING UPPER INSULATOR LH

- INSTALL REAR HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

- TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY LH
- Clean the installation surfaces of the parking brake assembly LH and rear axle beam assembly.
- Temporarily tighten the parking brake assembly LH to the rear axle beam assembly with the nut.NOTE:
Do not twist the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly when installing the parking brake assembly.
HINT:
Fully tighten the nut after installing the rear axle hub and bearing assembly LH.
- Install the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the rear axle beam assembly with the bolt.
Torque: 6.0 N*m (61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf)
- TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure for the LH side.
- INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY LH

- INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure for the LH side.
- FULLY TIGHTEN PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY LH
- Fully tighten the nut.
Torque: 140 N*m (1428 kgf*cm, 103 ft.*lbf)
- Fully tighten the nut.
- FULLY TIGHTEN PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure for the LH side.
- INSTALL REAR NO. 4 BRAKE TUBE
- Install the rear No. 4 brake tube to the rear axle beam assembly.
Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf)
- Install the rear No. 4 brake tube to the rear axle beam assembly.
- INSTALL REAR NO. 3 BRAKE TUBE
HINT:
Use the same procedure for the rear No. 4 brake tube side.
- CONNECT REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE LH
- Install the rear flexible hose LH to the rear axle beam assembly.
Torque: 19 N*m (194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)
- Using a union nut wrench, connect the rear flexible hose LH to the rear No. 4 brake tube.
Specified tightening torque
Torque: 15.2 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)
NOTE:- Do not kink or damage the brake lines.
- Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the brake lines from the connecting parts.
HINT:
- Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

- When using a union nut wrench (fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.866 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 162 mm (6.38 in.)): 13.4 N*m (137 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf)
*a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length
- Install the rear flexible hose LH to the rear axle beam assembly.
- CONNECT REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE RH
- Install the rear flexible hose RH to the rear axle beam assembly with a new clip.NOTE:
- Install the clip as far as it will go.
- Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the brake line from the connecting parts.
- Using a union nut wrench, connect the rear flexible hose RH to the rear No. 3 brake tube.
Specified tightening torque
Torque: 15.2 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)
NOTE:- Do not kink or damage the brake lines.
- Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the brake lines from the connecting parts.
HINT:
- Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

- Install the rear flexible hose RH to the rear axle beam assembly with a new clip.
- INSTALL REAR DISC (for LH Side)

HINT:
Use the same procedure for the LH side.
- INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING HOLE PLUG
- Install the 2 parking brake shoe adjusting hole plugs to the rear disc.
- INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH
- Install the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 72 N*m (734 kgf*cm, 53 ft.*lbf)
- Install the rear brake tube flexible hose to the rear axle beam assembly.NOTE:
- Install the clip as far as it will go.
- Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the brake line from the connecting parts.
- Using a union nut wrench, connect the rear brake tube flexible hose to the rear No. 4 brake tube.
Specified tightening torque
Torque: 15.2 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf)
NOTE:- Do not kink or damage the brake lines.
- Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the brake lines from the connecting parts.
*a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length HINT:
- Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

- When using a union nut wrench (fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.866 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 162 mm (6.38 in.)): 13.4 N*m (137 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf)
- Install the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH with the 2 bolts.
- INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure for the LH side.
- INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE LH

- INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Install the rear suspension brace sub-assembly to the vehicle.
Torque: 45 N*m (459 kgf*cm, 33 ft.*lbf)
- Install the rear suspension brace sub-assembly to the vehicle.
- INSTALL FRONT FLOOR CENTER COVER RH
