Removal [11/2018 - ]: Procedure
- REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
- REMOVE NO. 1 MOTOR UNDER COVER
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8
- DRAIN HYBRID TRANSAXLE FLUID
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- REMOVE FRONT AXLE SHAFT NUT
- SEPARATE FRONT SPEED SENSOR
- SEPARATE FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
- SEPARATE TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16
- SEPARATE FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7
- REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
- Put matchmarks on the front drive shaft assembly and front axle hub sub-assembly.
*a Matchmark - Using a plastic hammer, separate the front drive shaft assembly from the front axle assembly.NOTE:
- Be careful not to damage the front axle outboard joint boot.
- Do not push the front axle assembly towards the outside of the vehicle any further than necessary.
HINT:
If the parts are stuck and difficult to disengage, use a brass bar and a hammer to tap the tip of the front drive shaft assembly.
- Using SST, remove the front drive shaft assembly from the FCV transaxle with motor assembly.

NOTE:- Do not damage the front drive shaft oil seal.
- Do not damage the front axle inboard joint boot.
- Do not drop the front drive shaft assembly.
HINT:
Measure the size of the gap between the front drive inboard joint assembly and FCV transaxle with motor assembly, and use the measured value for reference when installing.
- Put matchmarks on the front drive shaft assembly and front axle hub sub-assembly.
