Reassembly [06/2015 - 11/2018]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL HOLE PLUG 
    1. Install the 2 hole plugs.

  2. INSTALL REAR DOOR PANEL CUSHION 
    1. Engage the claw to install a new rear door panel cushion.

  3. INSTALL NO. 3 REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Engage the guide to temporary install a new No. 3 rear door weatherstrip.

      Double-side tape
    2. Remove the release paper.
    3. Press the double-side tape area of the rear door weatherstrip.
  4. INSTALL NO. 2 REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Engage the clips to install the rear door weatherstrip.

  5. INSTALL REAR DOOR UPPER OUTSIDE STRIPE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  6. INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE STRIPE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  7. INSTALL REAR DOOR LOWER OUTSIDE STRIPE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  8. INSTALL REAR DOOR WINDOW FRAME REAR MOULDING 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  9. INSTALL REAR DOOR WINDOW FRAME UPPER MOULDING 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  10. INSTALL REAR DOOR WINDOW FRAME FRONT MOULDING 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  11. INSTALL REAR DOOR BELT MOULDING ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  12. INSTALL REAR DOOR WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Clean vehicle installation surface.
    2. Engage the clips to install a new rear door weatherstrip.

      Double-side Tape
    3. Remove the release paper.
    4. Press the double-side tape area of the rear door weatherstrip.
    5. Install the 2 clips.
  13. INSTALL REAR DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Apply MP grease to the sliding areas of the rear door check assembly.
    2. Clean the bolt hole on the vehicle body.
    3. Clean the threads of the bolt.
    4. Apply adhesive to the threads of the bolt.

      Adhesive

      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent.

    5. Install the rear door check assembly with the 2 nuts and bolt.

      Bolt 

      Torque: 27 N*m (275 kgf*cm, 20 ft.*lbf) 

      Nut 

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

  14. INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Apply MP grease to sliding areas of the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly.
    2. Engage the grommet and guides to install the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
    3. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, install the screw.

      Torque: 4.0 N*m (41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf) 

  15. INSTALL REAR DOOR REAR OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD 
    1. Engage the claws to install the rear door rear outside handle pad.

  16. INSTALL REAR DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE HANDLE PAD 
    1. Engage the claws to install the rear door front outside handle pad.

  17. INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the rear door outside handle assembly as shown in the illustration.

  18. INSTALL REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE COVER 
    1. Engage the claws to install the rear door outside handle cover as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
    2. Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, install the screw.

      Torque: 4.0 N*m (41 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf) 

  19. INSTALL REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  20. INSTALL REAR DOOR REAR GUIDE SEAL 
    1. Install the rear door rear guide seal as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
    2. Raise up the rear door weatherstrip and then install the 2 screws.
    3. Install the screw.
    4. Engage the rear door weatherstrip.
  21. INSTALL REAR DOOR CUSHION 
    1. Clean vehicle installation surface.
    2. Remove the release paper.
    3. Install a new rear door cushion with the 2 bolts.

      Double-side Tape
    4. Press the double-side tape area of the rear door cushion.
  22. INSTALL REAR DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Apply MP grease to the sliding areas of the rear door window regulator sub-assembly.
    2. Temporarily install the temporary bolt to the rear door regulator sub-assembly.

      *a Temporary Bolt
    3. Temporarily install the rear door window regulator sub-assembly.
    4. Tighten the temporary bolt and 5 bolts to install the rear door window regulator sub-assembly.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

    5. Connect the connector.
  23. INSTALL REAR DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Insert the rear door glass sub-assembly into the rear door glass run as indicated by the arrows in the order shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the rear door glass sub-assembly.

    2. Install the rear door glass sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf) 

  24. INSTALL REAR DOOR WINDOW REAR LOWER FRAME SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the rear door window rear lower frame sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

    2. Install the screw.
  25. INSTALL REAR DOOR FRAME GARNISH 
    1. Engage the guides to install the rear door frame garnish as shown in the illustration.

  26. INSTALL REAR DOOR GLASS RUN 
    1. Install the rear door glass run as shown in the illustration.

  27. INSTALL REAR DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER 
    1. Apply new butyl tape to the rear door panel.

      *1 Butyl Tape
      *a Reference Point
    2. Pass the rear door lock remote control cable assembly and rear door inside locking cable assembly through a new rear door service hole cover.
    3. Install the rear door service hole cover according to the reference points on the rear door panel.
      NOTE:

      Securely install the rear door service hole cover preventing wrinkles and bubbles.

    4. Engage the clamps to install the wire harness.
  28. INSTALL REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  29. INSTALL REAR DOOR GLASS INNER WEATHERSTRIP 
    1. Install the rear door glass inner weatherstrip as shown in the illustration.

  30. INSTALL REAR DOOR WIRE 
    1. Engage the clamp to install the rear door wire to the rear door trim board sub-assembly.

  31. INSTALL REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  32. INSTALL REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the claws to install the rear door inside handle sub-assembly to the rear door trim board sub-assembly.

  33. INSTALL REAR DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the guides to install the rear door lock remote control cable assembly and rear door inside locking cable assembly.

    2. Connect the connector.
