Installation [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for LH Side) 
    1. Install the front lower arm bushing stopper to the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH.
    2. Install the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH to the front frame assembly with the 3 bolts and nut in the order shown in the illustration.

      Bolt 1, 2 

      Torque: 200 N*m (2039 kgf*cm, 148 ft.*lbf) 

      Bolt 3 

      Torque: 135 N*m (1377 kgf*cm, 100 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.

    3. Install the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH to the front lower ball joint assembly with the bolt and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 92 N*m (938 kgf*cm, 68 ft.*lbf) 

  2. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH (for LH Side) 
    1. Using a jack and a wooden block, support the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH at the position shown in the illustration.

    2. While ensuring that the engine assembly with transaxle does not interfere with surrounding components, jack up the engine assembly with transaxle and front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly to a position that allows the engine mounting insulator LH to be removed.
      WARNING:

      Do not jack up the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH too high as the vehicle may fall.

      NOTE:
      • Do not position the wooden block under the oil pan.
      • Do not damage the components surrounding the engine assembly with transaxle.
      • Do not damage the front drive shaft assembly.
      • Tilt the engine assembly with transaxle as little as possible.
      • Ensure that the jack and wooden block are stable.
      • Make sure to perform this operation with the vehicle kept as low as possible.

      HINT: 

      Jack up the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH to prevent damage to the front drive shaft assembly.

    3. Set the engine mounting insulator LH on the front frame assembly.

    4. Slowly lower the engine assembly with transaxle using a jack and a wooden block.
      NOTE:
      • Match the position of the pin (stopper).
      • Do not damage the components surrounding the engine assembly with transaxle.
      • Ensure that the jack and wooden block are stable.
    5. Remove the jack and wooden block that are used to support the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly LH.
    6. Install the engine mounting insulator LH with the 4 nuts.

      Nut (A) 

      Torque: 95 N*m (969 kgf*cm, 70 ft.*lbf) 

      Nut (B) 

      Torque: 99 N*m (1010 kgf*cm, 73 ft.*lbf) 

    7. Install the 2 hole plugs.
  3. INSTALL FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for RH Side) 
    1. Install the front lower arm bushing stopper to the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly RH.
    2. Install the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly RH to the front frame assembly with the 3 bolts and nut in the order shown in the illustration.

      Bolt 1, 2 

      Torque: 200 N*m (2039 kgf*cm, 148 ft.*lbf) 

      Bolt 3 

      Torque: 135 N*m (1377 kgf*cm, 100 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.

    3. Install the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly RH to the front lower ball joint assembly with the bolt and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 92 N*m (938 kgf*cm, 68 ft.*lbf) 

  4. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR RH (for RH Side) 
    1. Using a jack and a wooden block, support the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly RH at the position shown in the illustration.

    2. While ensuring that the engine assembly with transaxle does not interfere with surrounding components, jack up the engine assembly with transaxle and front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly RH to a position that allows the engine mounting insulator RH to be removed.
      WARNING:

      Do not jack up the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly RH too high as the vehicle may fall.

      NOTE:
      • Do not position the wooden block under the oil pan.
      • Do not damage the components surrounding the engine assembly with transaxle.
      • Do not damage the front drive shaft assembly.
      • Tilt the engine assembly with transaxle as little as possible.
      • Ensure that the jack and wooden block are stable.
      • Make sure to perform this operation with the vehicle kept as low as possible.

      HINT: 

      Jack up the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly RH to prevent damage to the front drive shaft assembly.

    3. Set the engine mounting insulator RH on the front frame assembly.

    4. Slowly lower the engine assembly with transaxle using a jack and a wooden block.
      NOTE:
      • Match the position of the cutout (stopper).
      • Do not damage the components surrounding the engine assembly with transaxle.
      • Ensure that the jack and wooden block are stable.
    5. Remove the jack and wooden block that are used to support the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly RH.
    6. Install the engine mounting insulator RH with the 4 nuts.

      Nut (A) 

      Torque: 95 N*m (969 kgf*cm, 70 ft.*lbf) 

      Nut (B) 

      Torque: 99 N*m (1010 kgf*cm, 73 ft.*lbf)

    7. Install the 2 hole plugs.
  5. INSTALL ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD BRACKET 
    1. Temporarily install the engine moving control rod bracket with the 4 bolts.

    2. Fully tighten the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 38 N*m (387 kgf*cm, 28 ft.*lbf) 

  6. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35 (INSTALLATION [12/2013 - 11/2016])

  7. INSTALL FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR 
    1. Install the front engine mounting insulator to the front frame assembly with the 3 nuts.

      Torque: 58 N*m (591 kgf*cm, 43 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Install the hole plug.
  8. INSTALL FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH (for LH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 75 (INSTALLATION [12/2013 - 11/2016])

  9. INSTALL FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH (for RH Side) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 76 (INSTALLATION [12/2013 - 11/2016])

  10. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 80 (INSTALLATION [12/2013 - 11/2016])

  11. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 81 (INSTALLATION [12/2013 - 11/2016])

  12. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

  13. INSTALL BATTERY BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the battery bracket sub-assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) 

  14. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Engage the clamp and install the No. 2 engine wire.
  15. INSTALL BATTERY

  16. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  17. INSTALL AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  18. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

  19. INSTALL INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 52 (INSTALLATION [12/2013 - 11/2016])

  20. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

  21. INSTALL RADIATOR SIDE DEFLECTOR SEAL LH

  22. INSTALL RADIATOR SIDE SEAL RH

  23. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  24. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  25. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2013 - 11/2016] .
