Installation [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY GASKET 
    1. Install a new throttle body gasket to the intake manifold with the protrusions of the throttle body gasket oriented as shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL FUEL HOSE BRACKET 
    1. Install the fuel hose bracket to the throttle body with motor assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 7.5 N*m (76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf) 

  3. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the throttle body with motor assembly to the intake manifold with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      If the throttle body with motor assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    2. Connect the No. 1 water by-pass hose and No. 2 water by-pass hose to the throttle body with motor assembly and slide the 2 clips to secure them.
    3. Engage the fuel tube sub-assembly to the clamp.
    4. Connect the throttle body with motor assembly connector.
  4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 
    1. Install the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose to the throttle body with motor assembly.
    2. Engage the 2 air cleaner cap clamps.
    3. Tighten the hose clamp.
    4. Connect the ventilation hose to the cylinder head cover sub-assembly and slide the clip to secure it.
    5. Connect the vacuum hose to the No. 1 air cleaner hose and slide the clip to secure it.
    6. Engage the hose clamp.
    7. Connect the vacuum switching valve assembly to the No. 1 air cleaner hose and engage the hose clamp.
    8. Connect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector and engage the wire harness clamp.
  5. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 67 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 67

  6. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  7. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:
    • Be sure to perform this procedure after removing and reinstalling the throttle body with motor assembly or any throttle body with motor assembly components.
    • Perform the following procedure after replacing the throttle body with motor assembly or any throttle body with motor assembly components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body with motor assembly is cleaned.
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2013 - 11/2016] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2016 - ]

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the accelerator pedal.
    3. Perform the "Inspection After Repair".

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2013 - ]

    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated. After the engine is warmed up, check that the idle speed is within the specified range with the A/C switch off.

      Standard Idle Speed

      600 to 700 rpm

      NOTE:
      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
      • Make sure that the shift lever is in P or N.
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Throttle Sensor Position.

      Powertrain > Engine > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Throttle Sensor Position
    6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or higher.
    7. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
