Removal [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24

  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 
    1. Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector and disengage the wire harness clamp.

    2. Disengage the hose clamp and disconnect the vacuum switching valve assembly from the No. 1 air cleaner hose.
    3. Disengage the hose clamp.

    4. Slide the clip and disconnect the vacuum hose from the No. 1 air cleaner hose.
    5. Slide the clip and disconnect the ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.
    6. Disengage the 2 air cleaner cap clamps.

    7. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the air cleaner cap with air cleaner hose from the throttle body with motor assembly.

  4. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the throttle body with motor assembly connector.

    2. Disengage the fuel tube sub-assembly from the clamp.
    3. Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose and No. 2 water by-pass hose from the throttle body with motor assembly.

      *1 No. 1 Water By-pass Hose
      *2 No. 2 Water By-pass Hose
    4. Remove the 4 bolts and throttle body with motor assembly from the intake manifold.

      NOTE:

      If the throttle body with motor assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  5. REMOVE FUEL HOSE BRACKET 
    1. Remove the bolt and fuel hose bracket from the throttle body with motor assembly.

  6. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY GASKET 
    1. Remove the throttle body gasket from the intake manifold.
