Removal [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24

  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY 

    See step  3

  4. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR 
    1. Disengage the heater hose from the heater bracket.

    2. Remove the bolt and separate the heater bracket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
    3. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.

    4. Using a 19 mm union nut wrench, remove the engine coolant temperature sensor from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      If the engine coolant temperature sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

    5. Remove the gasket from the engine coolant temperature sensor.
