Removal [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2016 - ]

  3. REMOVE RADIATOR SIDE DEFLECTOR SEAL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  4. REMOVE RADIATOR SIDE SEAL RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  5. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24

  7. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25

  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27

  10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 28

  11. REMOVE BATTERY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 31

  12. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Open the terminal cap.

    2. Remove the nut and disconnect terminal 30.
    3. Disconnect the starter assembly connector.
    4. Type A:

      1. Remove the 2 bolts and starter assembly.
    5. Type B:

      1. Remove the 2 nuts and the starter assembly.
      2. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts from the automatic transaxle assembly.
