Removal [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION (for Glass Hatch Type) 
    NOTE:
    • Be sure to use the centering jig when removing and installing the rear wiper motor assembly. Failure to do so will result in a change of the location of the axis of the rear wiper motor assembly, causing the wiping angle to change.
    • After installing the rear wiper motor assembly, do not open the glass hatch before installing the rear wiper link.
    • If the rear wiper motor assembly is removed without using the centering jig, the rear wiper motor assembly must be replaced with a new one.
  2. REMOVE BACK WINDOW UPPER TRIM PANEL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  3. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM COVER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK COVER (for Glass Hatch Type) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 BACK DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 BACK DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  8. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  9. REMOVE REAR WIPER SHAFT COVER (for Glass Hatch Type) 
    1. Disengage the 3 clips.

      Fastener
    2. Disengage the fastener and remove the rear wiper shaft cover.
  10. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM HEAD CAP 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear wiper arm head cap.

  11. REMOVE REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut and rear wiper arm and blade assembly.

  12. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET (for Fixed Glass Type) 
    1. Remove the rear wiper motor grommet.

  13. REMOVE REAR WIPER LINK CAP (for Glass Hatch Type) 
    1. Remove the rear wiper link cap.

  14. REMOVE REAR WIPER LINK PIVOT WITH WASHER PACKING (for Glass Hatch Type) 
    1. Remove the nut and rear wiper link pivot with washer packing.

  15. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Fixed Glass Type) 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Loosen the 4 bolts and remove the rear wiper motor assembly.
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to scratch the back door glass.

  16. REMOVE REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (for Glass Hatch Type) 
    1. When reusing the rear wiper motor assembly:
      1. Open the glass hatch.
      2. Engage the 3 claws and 2 guides to install the centering jig.
        NOTE:
        • The centering jig cannot be reused.
        • Do not remove the centering jig before installing the rear wiper link.

      3. Close the glass hatch and engage the 2 claws and guide.
        NOTE:

        Be sure to engage the 2 claws and guide securely.

      4. Disconnect the connector.

        Nut
        Bolt
      5. Remove the 2 nuts.
      6. Remove the 4 bolts and rear wiper motor assembly.
        NOTE:
        • Do not hold the rear wiper motor assembly by the rear wiper link.
        • Be careful not to scratch the back door glass.
    2. When using a new rear wiper motor assembly:
      1. Disconnect the connector.

      2. Remove the 4 bolts.
      3. Remove the 2 nuts and rear wiper motor assembly.

        NOTE:

        Be careful not to scratch the back door glass.
