Installation [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the engine switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Using SST, install the airbag ECU assembly with the 3 bolts.

      • SST: 09961-00950 
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length

      Specified tightening torque 

      Torque: 18 N*m (178 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • This torque value is effective when SST is parallel to a torque wrench.
      • If the airbag ECU assembly has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.
      • When installing the airbag ECU assembly, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with or is not pinched between other parts.
      • When the engine switch is first turned on (IG) after the airbag ECU assembly has been replaced, make sure that no one is in the vehicle.
      • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench (Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2014 - ] ).
      • When using SST (fulcrum length of 150 mm (5.91 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 250 mm (9.84 in.)): 11 N*m (112 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf)
    4. Connect the connectors to the airbag ECU assembly as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    5. Check that the waterproof sheet is properly set.

    6. Check that there is no looseness in the installed parts of the airbag ECU assembly.
  2. INSTALL NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX MOUNTING BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  4. INSTALL FLOOR CARPET BRACKET LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  5. INSTALL FLOOR CARPET BRACKET RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  6. INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE BOX 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  7. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  8. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2014 - ] )

  9. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35

  10. CONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 36

  11. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 37

  12. CONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

  13. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
