Installation [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL WATER INLET WITH THERMOSTAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install a new gasket to the water inlet with thermostat sub-assembly.
    2. Install the water inlet with thermostat sub-assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

  2. CONNECT WATER BY-PASS HOSE 
    1. Connect the water by-pass hose and slide the clip to secure it.
  3. CONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 46

  4. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH 
    1. Temporarily install the front No. 1 engine mounting bracket LH with the 7 bolts.

      Bolt Length

      Item Length
      Bolt (A) 115 mm (4.53 in.)
      Bolt (B) 85 mm (3.35 in.)
      Bolt (C) 40 mm (1.57 in.)
      NOTE:

      Make sure that there is no oil on the threads of the bolts.

    2. Fully tighten the 3 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 54 N*m (551 kgf*cm, 40 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Using SST, fully tighten the bolt.

      *a Torque Wrench Fulcrum Length
      • SST: 09961-00950 

      Specified tightening torque 

      Torque: 54 N*m (551 kgf*cm, 40 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT: 

      • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2016 - ]

      • When using SST (fulcrum length of 150 mm (5.91 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 255 mm (10 in.)): 34 N*m (347 kgf*cm, 25 ft.*lbf)
    4. Fully tighten the bolt.

      Torque: 54 N*m (551 kgf*cm, 40 ft.*lbf) 

    5. Using SST, fully tighten the bolt.

      Specified tightening torque 

      Torque: 54 N*m (551 kgf*cm, 40 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT: 

      • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2016 - ]

      • When using SST (fulcrum length of 150 mm (5.91 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 255 mm (10 in.)): 34 N*m (347 kgf*cm, 25 ft.*lbf)
    6. Using SST, fully tighten the bolt.
      • SST: 09961-00950 

      Specified tightening torque 

      Torque: 54 N*m (551 kgf*cm, 40 ft.*lbf) 

      HINT: 

      • Calculate the torque wrench reading when changing the fulcrum length of the torque wrench.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2016 - ]

      • When using SST (fulcrum length of 150 mm (5.91 in.)) + torque wrench (fulcrum length of 180 mm (7.09 in.)): 29 N*m (296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf)

  5. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Connect the engine wire with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.4 N*m (86 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf) 

  6. INSTALL ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 39

  7. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  8. INSTALL RESERVOIR BRACKET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 41

  9. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 42

  10. INSTALL OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  11. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [02/2014 - ]

  12. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 74

  13. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (for Engine) 

    See step  2

  14. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for Engine) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
