Removal [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH 
  2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH 
  3. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET (for Front Side) 

    See step  7

  5. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst) 
    1. Disconnect the 2 wire harnesses from the clamp.

    2. Disconnect the 2 heated oxygen sensor connectors.
    3. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket (for Rear Side).

    4. Remove the 4 bolts, 4 nuts and front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).

    5. Remove the 3 gaskets from the front exhaust pipe assembly (TWC: Rear Catalyst).
  6. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  7. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (TWC: Front Catalyst) 
    1. Using a 12 mm deep socket wrench, remove the 6 nuts and exhaust manifold sub-assembly RH (TWC: Front Catalyst).

    2. Remove the gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

  8. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 2) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  9. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  10. REMOVE NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and No. 2 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

  11. REMOVE NO. 2 MANIFOLD STAY 
    1. Remove the bolt, nut and No. 2 manifold stay.

  12. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (TWC: Front Catalyst) 
    1. Using a 12 mm deep socket wrench, remove the 6 nuts and exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH (TWC: Front Catalyst).

    2. Remove the gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
