DTC P3107-15: Lost Communication with Airbag System Control Module Circuit Short to Auxiliary Battery or Open [08/2019 -]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SRS AIRBAG) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result  Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTCs are output B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART (AIRBAG SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2019 - 07/2020]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [07/2020 -] 

    Result:

  2. CHECK AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM)

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result  Proceed to
      P3107-15 is not output A
      P3107-15 is output B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result: 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2019 - 07/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 -]

  5. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    HINT: 

    Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [11/2015 -]

  6. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR)

  7. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) 
    1. Check the connector connections and contact pressure of the relevant terminals for the F122 airbag ECU assembly connector.

      The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact pressure problems.

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the F3 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the F122 airbag ECU assembly connector.
    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      NOTE:

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the airbag ECU assembly connector and the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    5. Turn the power switch off.
    6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

    7. Reconnect the F122 airbag ECU assembly connector.
    8. Reconnect the F3 hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

  9. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 
    1. Disconnect the F122 airbag ECU assembly connector.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      NOTE:

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the airbag ECU assembly connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
