Installation [02/2014 - ]: Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  2. INSTALL STEERING POST ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the steering post assembly with the bolt and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 25 N*m (255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Make sure that the wire harness is not interfering with the steering post assembly.

    2. Connect the 2 connectors.
    3. Engage the 2 clamps.
    4. Install the ground wire with the bolt.

      Torque: 8.35 N*m (85 kgf*cm, 74 in.*lbf) 

    5. Connect each connector and engage each wire harness clamp to the steering post assembly.
  3. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. INSTALL NO. 4 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 2 claws and guide to install the No. 4 air duct sub-assembly.
    2. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf) 

  5. CONNECT STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Align the matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering link assembly.

      *a Matchmark
    2. Connect the steering intermediate shaft assembly to the steering link assembly.
    3. Install a new bolt.

      Torque: 35.3 N*m (360 kgf*cm, 26 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Install the steering intermediate shaft assembly to the steering column hole shield.
    5. Tighten the bolt.

  6. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [02/2014 - ]

  7. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the auxiliary battery connected and the power switch on (IG).
    • Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel assembly with the auxiliary battery connected and the power switch on (IG).
    • Ensure that the steering wheel assembly is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.
    1. Engage the 3 claws to install the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly to the steering column assembly.
    2. Connect each connector to the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.
  8. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 
    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the upper steering column cover.
    2. Engage the 6 clips to the upper steering column cover.
  9. INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER 
    1. Engage the 3 claws to install the lower steering column cover.
    2. Install the 2 screws.
  10. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  11. INSPECT AND ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  12. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    See step  8

  13. CHECK STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT 
  14. INSTALL HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [02/2014 - ]

  15. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL LH 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

  16. ADJUST PARKING ASSIST MONITOR SYSTEM (w/ Parking Assist Monitor System) 

    Refer to CALIBRATION [02/2014 - ]
