DTC P0A91-705: Drive Motor "B" Performance [02/2014 - 11/2016]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P0A91-705 only is output, or DTCs except the ones in the table below are also output. A
      Any of the following DTCs are also output. B

      HINT: 

      • Refer to the freeze frame data to determine the order in which the DTCs were stored.
      • P0A91-702 may be stored due to a malfunction which also causes DTCs in the preceding table to be stored. In this case, first troubleshoot the output DTCs in the preceding table. Then, perform a test to attempt to reproduce the problems, and check that no DTCs are output.
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  2

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [02/2014 - 11/2015]  Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2015 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  1

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Any of the following DTCs are also output. A
      P0A91-705 only is output, or DTCs except the ones in the table below are also output. B
      Relevant DTC
      P0A90-251 Drive Motor "A" Performance
      P0A92-261 Hybrid Generator Performance

      HINT: 

      When the DTCs listed in the preceding table are also output, there may be a short between the HSDN (MG shut down signal) circuit and power circuit.

    5. Turn the power switch off.

  3. CHECK POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. SIMULATION TEST 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (READY).
    3. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 40 km/h (25 mph) for approximately 1 minute.
      WARNING:

      When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    5. Check for DTCs.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Proceed to
      P0A91-705 is output or no DTCs are output.
      P0A79-704 or P0A91-702 is output.
    6. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  2

    P0A79-704 or P0A91-702 is output. 

    GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [02/2014 - 11/2015]  Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2015 - 11/2016] 

    Result:  1

    P0A91-705 is output or no DTCs are output.

  5. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    NG (The terminals are not making secure contact or are deformed, or water or foreign matter exists in the connector.) C

  6. CHECK INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY (NO. 6 FLOOR WIRE (REAR MOTOR CABLE) CONNECTION CONDITION)
