DTC P2601-778: Oil Pump Control Range / Performance [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY (AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR) 

    HINT: 

    The ambient temperature sensor value is used to detect DTC P2601-778. Check that the ambient temperature sensor operates normally, as the detection condition for DTC P2601-778 may be mistakenly detected due to a malfunction in the ambient temperature sensor.

    1. Following the troubleshooting procedures for the ambient temperature sensor, check that the ambient temperature sensor operates normally.

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2016 - ]

  2. CHECK OIL PIPE 
    1. Check that there is no clogging in the oil pipes connected to the oil pump with motor assembly, oil cooler assembly, and hybrid vehicle transaxle assembly.

  3. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (OIL PUMP WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Check the connector connections and contact pressure of the relevant terminals for the oil pump with motor assembly connector.

      Refer to ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE [02/2014 - ]

      OK

      The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.

  5. CHECK FUSE (OIL PMP) 
    1. Remove the OIL PMP fuse from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  6. INSPECT OIL PMP RELAY 
    1. Remove the OIL PMP relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Remove the OIL PMP fuse from the No. 1 engine room relay block and No. 1 junction block assembly.

    5. Install the OIL PMP fuse.

    4. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      NOTE:

      Turning the power switch on (IG) with the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    6. Reconnect the A85 hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly connector.
    7. Reconnect the A38 oil pump with motor assembly connector.
