Removal [02/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH 
    1. Fully open the sunshade trim sub-assembly.
    2. Disengage the claw to remove the sliding roof side garnish LH.

  2. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Open the No. 1 sliding roof glass sub-assembly to a position where the 2 screws (A) can be removed.

    2. Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 screws (A).
    3. Fully close the No. 1 sliding roof glass sub-assembly.
    4. Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 4 screws (B) and No. 1 sliding roof glass sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      To prevent the No. 1 sliding roof glass sub-assembly and sliding roof drive gear assembly from being displaced, fully close the No. 1 sliding roof glass sub-assembly, and then remove the No. 1 sliding roof glass sub-assembly.

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a T25 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 4 screws and No. 2 sliding roof glass sub-assembly.

  5. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [02/2014 - 11/2015] , or refer to REMOVAL [11/2015 - 11/2016] , or refer to REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]

  6. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [02/2014 - 11/2016] , or refer to PRECAUTION [11/2016 - ]

    NOTE:

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [02/2014 - 11/2016] , or refer to PRECAUTION [11/2016 - ]

  7. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [02/2014 - 11/2016] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [11/2016 - ]

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF SIDE AIR DUCT LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 ROOF SIDE AIR DUCT RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  10. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  11. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  12. DISCONNECT SLIDING ROOF DRAIN HOSE 

    See step  8

  13. REMOVE FRONT SLIDING ROOF HOUSING MOUNTING BRACKET LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and front sliding roof housing mounting bracket LH.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the front side and rear side.

  14. REMOVE FRONT SLIDING ROOF HOUSING MOUNTING BRACKET RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  15. REMOVE CENTER SLIDING ROOF HOUSING MOUNTING BRACKET LH 
    1. Remove the 11 bolts and center sliding roof housing mounting bracket LH.

  16. REMOVE CENTER SLIDING ROOF HOUSING MOUNTING BRACKET RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  17. REMOVE REAR SLIDING ROOF HOUSING MOUNTING BRACKET LH 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and rear sliding roof housing mounting bracket LH.

  18. REMOVE REAR SLIDING ROOF HOUSING MOUNTING BRACKET RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  19. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF HOUSING ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 8 nuts and sliding roof housing assembly.
