Installation [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Set a new gasket on each cylinder head sub-assembly.

      NOTE:
      • Align the port holes of the gasket and cylinder head sub-assembly.
      • Be careful of the installation direction.
    2. Set the intake manifold on the cylinder head sub-assemblies.
    3. Install and uniformly tighten the 6 bolts and 4 nuts in several passes.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)

      HINT: 

      Tighten the inner installation bolts of the intake manifold before tightening the outer bolts.

  2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. CONNECT NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  4. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  5. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK 
    1. Install a new gasket to the intake air surge tank.
    2. Install the intake air surge tank with the 4 bolts and 2 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 28 N*m (286 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf)

    3. Install the No. 1 surge tank stay with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Attach the wire harness clamp.
    5. Install the No. 2 surge tank stay with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    6. Install the throttle body bracket with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

    7. Connect the No. 1 ventilation hose.

    8. Connect the No. 1 vacuum switching valve connector.
    9. Connect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose.

      HINT: 

      Connect the hose so that the direction of the hose clamp is as indicated in the illustration.

    10. Connect the throttle body connector.

    11. Connect the No. 4 water by-pass hose.

    12. Connect the No. 5 water by-pass hose.

      HINT: 

      Connect the hose so that the direction of the hose clamp is as indicated in the illustration.

    13. Attach the 2 heater water hose clamps.
  6. CONNECT VACUUM HOSE (for 2WD) 
    1. Connect the vacuum hose.

      HINT: 

      Make sure the direction of the hose clamp is as shown in the illustration.

  7. INSTALL AIR TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    1. For Bank 1 Side:
      1. Align the paint mark with the projection and connect the air tube assembly to the No. 1 emission control valve set.

        HINT: 

        Make sure the direction of the hose clamp is as shown in the illustration.

    2. For Bank 2 Side:
      1. Align the paint mark with the projection and connect the air tube assembly to the No. 2 emission control valve set.

        HINT: 

        Make sure the direction of the hose clamp is as shown in the illustration.

    3. Install the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

  8. CONNECT NO. 1 AIR INJECTION SYSTEM HOSE 
    1. Connect the No. 1 air injection system hose.

      HINT: 

      The direction of the hose clamp is indicated in the illustration.

  9. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER HOSE 
    1. Install the No. 1 air cleaner hose with the 2 hose clamps.

      Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf)

    2. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the vacuum hose and ventilation hose.

      HINT: 

      The direction of the hose clamp is indicated in the illustration.

    4. Attach the wire harness clamp.
  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2019 - 08/2022] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2022 - ] ).

  11. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  12. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  13. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  14. INSTALL V-BANK COVER 
    1. Attach the 2 V-bank cover hooks to the bracket. Then align the 2 V-bank cover grommets with the 2 pins and press down on the V-bank cover to attach the pins.

  15. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 67

  16. INSTALL FRONT LOWER BUMPER COVER (w/o Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 68

  17. INSTALL AIR INTAKE DUCT LH (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 69

  18. INSTALL AIR INTAKE DUCT RH (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 70

  19. INSTALL FRONT LOWER BUMPER COVER (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 71

  20. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT (for 4WD with Intuitive Parking Assist System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [08/2015 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [08/2019 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [08/2020 - 08/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 [08/2021 - ]
