Installation [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  2. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the exhaust pipe support.
    2. Set 2 new gaskets to the front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly.
    3. Connect the front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly to the exhaust pipe support and exhaust manifold.
    4. Install 2 new nuts.

      Torque: 54 N*m (554 kgf*cm, 40 ft.*lbf) 

    5. Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
  4. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE STOPPER BRACKET (for 4WD) 
    1. Install the exhaust pipe stopper bracket with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 19 N*m (194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf) 

  5. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a plastic-faced hammer and wooden block, tap in a new gasket until its surface is flush with the front exhaust pipe assembly.

      *1 Gasket
      *2 Wooden Block
      NOTE:
      • Be sure to install the gasket so that it faces the correct direction.
      • Do not reuse the gasket.
      • Do not damage the gasket.
      • When connecting the front exhaust pipe assembly, do not push in the gasket with the front exhaust pipe assembly.
    2. Install a new gasket and the front exhaust pipe assembly to the exhaust manifold with 2 new nuts.

      Torque: 54 N*m (554 kgf*cm, 40 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the front exhaust pipe assembly to the front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 48 N*m (489 kgf*cm, 35 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
  6. INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression spring.

      Minimum free length

      38.5 mm (1.52 in.)

      1. If the free length is less than the minimum, replace the compression spring.
    2. Set a new gasket to the front exhaust pipe assembly.
    3. Install the 4 exhaust pipe supports.
    4. Connect the center exhaust pipe assembly to the 4 exhaust pipe supports.
    5. Install the center exhaust pipe assembly with the 2 compression springs and 2 bolts.

      Torque: 43 N*m (438 kgf*cm, 32 ft.*lbf) 

  7. INSTALL TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the exhaust pipe support.
    2. Set a new gasket to the center exhaust pipe assembly.
    3. Connect the tailpipe to the exhaust pipe support.
    4. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 48 N*m (489 kgf*cm, 35 ft.*lbf) 

  8. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK 
    1. If gas is leaking, tighten the areas necessary to stop the leak. Replace damaged parts as necessary.
  9. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE BRACKET RH (w/o Intuitive Parking Assist System) 
    1. Attach the guide and install the rear bumper side bracket RH with the 3 screws and clip.

  10. INSTALL REAR BUMPER SIDE BRACKET RH (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 
    1. Attach the guide and install the rear bumper side bracket RH with the 3 screws and clip.

  11. INSTALL REAR QUARTER PANEL MUDGUARD RH (w/o Intuitive Parking Assist System) 
    1. Install the rear quarter panel mudguard RH with the 6 screws and 3 clips.
  12. INSTALL REAR QUARTER PANEL MUDGUARD RH (w/ Intuitive Parking Assist System) 
    1. Install the rear quarter panel mudguard RH with the 4 screws and 4 clips.
  13. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 65

  14. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK 
    1. If gas is leaking, tighten the areas necessary to stop the leak. Replace damaged parts as necessary.
