DTC P3107-214: Lost Communication with Airbag System Control Module [12/2014 - ]: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Trouble Codes.
4. Check if DTCs are output.

   Result

   Result	Proceed to
   Airbag system DTCs are not output.	A
   Airbag system DTCs are output.	B

5. Turn the ignition switch off.

A: Go to next step 

B → See step   6 

A: Go to next step 

NEXT: Go to next step 

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
4. Check if DTCs are output.

   Result

   Result	Proceed to
   P3107-214 is not output.	A
   P3107-214 is output again.	B

5. Turn the ignition switch off.

A: Go to next step 

Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [12/2014 - ]

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

OK → See step   10 

NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Check the connector connections and contact pressure of the relevant terminals for the airbag sensor assembly connectors.

   The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact pressure problems.

NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Disconnect connector G58 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
2. Disconnect connector G18 from the airbag sensor assembly.
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (IG).
4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage

   Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
   G58-14 (ABFS) - Body ground	Ignition switch ON	Below 1 V

   NOTE:

   Turning the ignition switch to ON (IG) with the airbag sensor assembly connector and the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

5. Turn the ignition switch off.
6. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

   Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
   G58-14 (ABFS) - G18-14 (GSW2)	Ignition switch off	Below 1 Ω

   Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

   Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
   G58-14 (ABFS) or G18-14 (GSW2) - Body ground and other terminals	Ignition switch off	10 kΩ or higher

7. Connect the airbag sensor assembly connector.
8. Connect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Disconnect connector G18 from the airbag sensor assembly.

   Turning the ignition switch to ON (IG) with the airbag sensor assembly connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

5. Connect the airbag sensor assembly connector.
