DTC P0335-62: Crankshaft Position Sensor "A" Signal Compare Failure [11/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SFI SYSTEM) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.

      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

    5. Read the DTCs.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      SFI system DTCs are not output A
      SFI system crankshaft position sensor circuit DTC is output B

    Result:  2

    GO TO SFI SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2016 - 10/2017]  Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [10/2017 - ] 

    Result:  1

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ENGINE SPEED) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Stop and Start / Data List / Engine Speed.

      Powertrain > Stop and Start > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Engine Speed
    5. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

      OK

      Engine speed signal is input (the speeds displayed on the tachometer and the Techstream are almost the same).

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  1

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2016 - ]

    NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE STOP AND START ECU - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the engine stop and start ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Disconnect the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector. (w/ Smart Key System)
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A92-10 (NE) - A43-30 (NEO) Always Below 1 Ω
      A92-10 (NE) or A43-30 (NEO) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ENGINE STOP AND START ECU - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the engine stop and start ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A92-6 (DGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:  2

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:  1

    OK

  5. CHECK ENGINE STOP AND START ECU (NE SIGNAL INPUT) 
    1. Start the engine and warm it up.
    2. Connect an oscilloscope to the NE and DGND terminals of the engine stop and start ECU connector.

    3. Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below.

      Tool Setting 5 V/DIV., 2 ms./DIV.

    REPLACE ENGINE STOP AND START ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2016 - ]

    GO TO SFI SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2016 - ]

  6. CHECK ENGINE STOP AND START ECU (NE TERMINAL VOLTAGE)

    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A92-10 (NE) - A92-6 (DGND) Ignition switch ON 8 to 14 V

      HINT: 

      DTCs may be stored during this inspection. Check for DTCs and clear them using the Techstream.
