Replacement [12/2013 - ]: Procedure

Refer to REMOVAL [12/2013 - ] 

1. Using a 10 mm hexagon wrench, remove the differential inspection plug and gasket.

2. Using a 10 mm hexagon wrench, remove the rear differential drain plug and gasket to drain the differential oil.

3. Using a 10 mm hexagon wrench, install a new gasket and the rear differential drain plug.

   Torque: 39 N*m (398 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf) 

4. Using a 10 mm hexagon wrench, temporarily install the differential inspection plug.

   HINT: 

   Add differential oil before installing a new gasket and fully installing the differential inspection plug.

1. Using SST, remove the rear drive shaft oil seal from the rear differential carrier assembly.
   • SST: 09308-00010

1. Using SST and a hammer, install a new rear drive shaft oil seal into the rear differential carrier assembly.
   • SST: 09223-4601109631-32020

   Standard Distance (A)

   8.2 to 8.8 mm (0.323 to 0.346 in.)

   NOTE:

   • Install the rear drive shaft oil seal uniformly so that it is driven in straight.
   • Do not excessively tap in the rear drive shaft oil seal.
2. Apply a light coat of MP grease to the lip of the new rear drive shaft oil seal.

2. Add differential oil.
